How to Store Peaches
Whole peaches should be stored at room temperature until ripe.
Once ripe, fruit can be placed whole in a bowl, covered with Glad® Press'n Seal® and refrigerated.
To store cut peaches, remove pits and cut fruit into chunks or wedges of desired size and seal in GladWare® food protection containers.
Store in the refrigerator.
How to Freeze Peaches
With a sharp knife, make a shallow "x" at the bottom of each peach. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
Blanch peaches in water for 60 seconds, then plunge into ice water for 60 seconds. Slip skins off, then halve and pit.
In a sauce pan, make a thin syrup of 4 parts water to 2 parts sugar. Dissolve sugar, then cool syrup.
Pour syrup over fruit in FreezerWare™ container, leaving 1/2-inch headroom. Seal and place in the deepest part of the freezer.
