How to Store Scallions

Prep
Place the bunch of scallions inside a glass jar. Add 1–2 inches of water in the bottom.

Cover
Cover the jar with a Glad® Zipper Bag and place in the refrigerator.

Wrap
Or, wrap the bottoms of the scallions with damp paper towels and place inside an open Glad® Zipper Bag.

Refrigerate
Store in the refrigerator.
Keeps for 10–12 months in Freezer Zipper bag; 5–6 months in FreezerWare™
How to Freeze Scallions

Trim
Trim roots off scallions, then slice and spread on a sheet pan.

Place
Place in freezer for 15–30 minutes, until scallions are frozen.

Transfer
Transfer to a Freezer Zipper bag or FreezerWare™ container.

Freeze
Seal, removing excess air (from bags), then place in the deepest part of the freezer.
